WTO Post: Buhari meets Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala

Former Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, on Monday, met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential villa, in a visit that may not apparently be unconnected with her quest to clinch the position of Director General DG of the World Trade Organisation, WTO.

Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, a former minister of finance in Nigeria, is said to be having a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Although not officially confirmed, Iweala’s visit to the president may not be entirely unconnected to her bid to become the director-general of the World Trade Organisation.

The President Muhammadu Buhari and former Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, are currently meeting at the State House Abuja.

Okonjo-Iweala, who is one of the two remaining contenders for the office of Director-General of the World Trade Organisation, was accompanied to the meeting by Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Niyi Adebayo, Minister of State, Industry Trade and Investment, Maryam Katagun, and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Zubair Dada.
