Anambra’s “Mr Project” opens campaign headquarters, commences free medical outreach

The member representing Nnewi North/South/Ekwusigo Federal constituency, Hon Chris Emeka Azubogu opened what appears to be his Anambra State gubernatorial campaign office over the weekend.


The 3-time lawmaker also took to his Facebook page to announce the commencement of the “4th Chris Emeka Azubogu’s Free Medical Outreach” from 30th November to 8th December, 2020.

According to the lawmaker, the medical outreach will be taking place at the following venues:

(i) Joint Hospital, Ozubulu.

(ii) Diocesan Hospital, Amichi.

(iii) Diocesan Hospital Akwudo- Nnewi.

(iv) St Mary’s Catholic Church, Ukpor.

He also announced that an online registration platform ahead of 30th November commencement date has been designed and interested Anambrarians can also pick forms from his campaign office.




The medical outreach is expected to cover eye surgeries, provision of eye-care (reading and medicated glasses), general surgeries, lab examinations and scans, as well as counseling.

The lawmaker further emphasized that the surgeries and treatments will be absolutely free.

The Chris Azubogu Medical Outreach had recorded over 900 successful surgeries in 2019 alone.

As Anambra State prepares for its Governorship election in 2021, Hon Azubogu is considered the favorite among the aspirants that have so far indicated interest to contest under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).



His sterling performance as a member of the Federal House of Representatives has endeared him not just to his constituents but to the entire state.

Eight years ago, a relatively unknown Chris Azubogu was elected to represent Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency under the platform of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).

In 2015 he was re-elected by his constituents, this time under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

During his second stint, he became a regular face in the legislative proceeding of the green chambers of the National Assembly, he was made the Deputy Chairman and later acting Chairman of the Appropriation Committee.

Back to his constituency, Hon. Chris Azubogu became known for construction of projects which earned him the name “Mr. Project”.

He started and completed the construction of over thirty (30) different roads in most of the communities in his constituency.

In fact, he was adjudged to have constructed more roads in his constituency than the State Government did in the entire state.

He attracted and distributed hundreds of street lights and transformers in most communities in his constituency.

On the area of education, he started and completed many classroom blocks for various schools in his constituency.

Early 2019, the lawmaker distributed Science Laboratory equipment worth millions of Naira to schools.

Hon Azubogu also embarked on building and equipping computer and science laboratory of all schools in his constituency.

On the area of Youth Empowerment, he engaged the youths in different empowerment programs. In 2019 over two hundred and fifty (250) youths in his constituency, participated in entrepreneurial skills training, sponsored by him, he also distributed medical equipment to most hospitals in his constituency.

His re-election to the House of Representatives during the 2019 general election was made easy by his outstanding performance during his second tenure at the green chambers.

As politicians in Anambra prepare to hit the trenches once again, a cross-section of people are clamoring for Hon Azubogu to come and replicate his developmental strides in the entire state.
